the lion dance costumeThe lion dance is closely associated to Chinese New Year as it not only brings auspicious meanings but also help bring what CNY is today..
It is said that long ago in China there's this evil creature called Nian that keeps attacking & destroying villager's livestock on the new year..
One day the villagers discovered that this beast is afraid of red colour and hence use it to ward it off.. Besides that Nian is also afraid of loud noise and fearsome creatures, and hence the lion dance is created to chase Nian away..
