CNY 2011 - Pt. 9

The Ninth day of CNY which usually refers to Tian Gong Tan (Heavenly God's Day)
The Taoist back in the olden days would pray towards the sky for blessing from God..

Last night, the crowd over my area celebrated with blasts of fireworks!!
Sadly my camera was not with me...

Huat Kuih (发糕)

发(fa4) usually means gaining wealth or prosperity, similar to 'huat' in Hokkien..
This particular kuih has the name that brings the symbol of prosperity and is usually used as prayer offering..
